How to maintain your efoil

So, you’ve just bought an electric foil but you don’t know how to maintain or store it? This article is for you!

Disassembly, maintenance and storage

Open the board’s protective cover and rinse each component with clean water, without disconnecting the cables.
You should also thoroughly rinse the mast and propeller.
Then dry the inside of the board with a dry towel to remove any
moisture.
Ensure that the ESC, battery and the inside of the connector sockets are completely dry.
Disconnect the sensors, and check that there is no water or sand inside.
Remove the battery, dry it completely and store in a dry place.
Once the electrical connector sockets are completely dry, reattach the connectors.
To remove the wing of your foil, unscrew the fuselage screws and put them back in position so you don't lose them.
To remove the mast, unscrew the screws in a criss-cross manner, slide them to the end of the groove, and gently remove the foil without excessive force. Tighten the screws again.
Store your board in a cool, dry place away from direct light.

Be careful:

Never allow water or sand to enter the inside of the connectors! This could cause significant damage.
Never leave your Takuma efoil exposed to direct sunlight or the wind for prolonged periods when not in use.
Do not leave your efoil on hot surfaces such as the pavement or sand over a prolonged period.
Avoid contact with sharp objects such as rocks, coral, sticks or other debris, for example. Do not leave your efoil close to shore breaks.
Never store your efoil damp. Only put your efoil away when completely dry.
Never store your efoil in a hot place (warmer than 40°C or 104°F) such as in a hot car, for example.
The Takuma efoil should be regularly checked and maintained to ensure proper performance and to avoid damage. Check your efoil after the first use to ensure that everything is working, then again after every 20 hours of use.
